Teresa Otulak is artist and designer expanding the horizons of both disciplines.
She finished Interior Design and Multimedia at the Academy of Art in Szczecin (Poland), where she currently teaches at the Design Department and is pursuing an open Ph.D.
As a curator she loves to experiment with form. She constructs events, transforming existing models and adapting them to contemporary contexts. She often draws from the traditions of fetes from various cultures, redefining their meanings in today's language.
As an artist and designer, she focuses on the condition of contemporary human beings. She is interested in projects that support psycho-physical health, human (not business) needs. She seeks to design solutions rather than products, taking inspiration from the principles of nature.
She has collaborated with Gdynia Design Festival, Łódź Design Festival, Infuture Institute, Biennale Warszawa, or the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin. She is a laureate of Mazda Design (2019), Best Diplomas of the Academy of Fine Arts (2017), Młode Wilki Festival (2015), In Out Festival (2016), and a finalist of the 15th Artistic Journey of Hestia. She received a scholarship from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (2016). Her works have been exhibited at Studio Piu in Milan (2017), rk Galerie in Berlin (2016), Trafostacja Sztuki in Szczecin (2022), Poznań Design Festival (2021), Gdańsk City Gallery (2018), the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw (2016), the National Museum in Szczecin (2013), and others.
